Microforms (microfilms and microfiche) are found on Floor 5. The machines for reading microfilms and microfiche are also found on the 5th floor.

The backfile of certain scholarly journals and selected daily newspapers is generally reproduced in microfilm format. Microfilms are found in the microfilm cabinets and are arranged first alphabetically by title and then by date within the title grouping.

Works on microfiche are arranged either by Library of Congress Call number or by Government Document number in the microfiche cabinet drawers. The exception is the microfiche ERIC Document Collection which is arranged by microfiche ED number.

Microfilms and microfiche can be photocopied using the special reader/printers on the 5th floor. Photocopy cards must be used in the reader/printers
