ABOUT THE RESERVE COLLECTION
(PDF format)
The Reserve Collection is designed to make heavily used materials available
to as many students as possible on a short-term loan. To place a (new
or additional) title on Reserve, you need to complete a Reserve List Request
Form. It is not necessary to submit a new list for articles left on Reserve
from a previous session.
COPYRIGHT
All photocopied materials must be supplied to the Reserve Desk for processing.
Please ensure that the material placed on Reserve fall within the guidelines
of the Access Copyright Licensing Agreement
(PDF format).
TIME REQUIRED TO FILL REQUESTS
Material is processed in order of receipt. To enable us to have material
processed and available for your students, please submit your Reserve
Request lists at least two weeks in advance.
ELECTRONIC RESERVES
Whenever the full-text of required article readings is available through
a library database, access will be provided through the Reserve Course
listings in the Library's online catalogue, and we will provide you with
the appropriate link to add to WebCT. PLEASE
NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT USE THE LINK PROVIDED BY THE LIBRARY, STUDENTS WILL
NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE ARTICLE REMOTELY.
Since not all articles are available electronically, please supply the
Reserve Desk with the necessary number of paper copies. We will do the
rest. For those items not available in digital format, our library is
open over 90 hours per week, providing students with excellent access
to all course reserve material.
PHOTOCOPIES OF JOURNAL ARTICLES FOR RESERVE
Periodicals are not placed in the Reserve Collection, but the Library
may process specific articles on Reserve. Contact Library
Copying and Printing Services at ext. 3263 for information regarding
obtaining copies of articles from journals in the James A. Gibson Library.
Please be sure to indicate on the Reserve Request List Form that the article
should be forwarded to the Reserve Desk from the Library Copying and Printing
Services Office.
PERSONAL COPIES OF JOURNAL ARTICLES
When the Library does not have the required material, you may place personal
copies on Reserve. Submit the number of copies, along with a completed
Reserve List Request Form. Articles must have the author (if applicable)
and title field filled in as you would like the item to be listed under
your course reserve list. If you know that a journal article is available
electronically, indicate the source, either on the article itself, or
on the Reserve List Request Form. Please note that the Library will not
accept responsibility for personal materials in the event of damage or
loss.
LIBRARY BOOKS
Library books placed in the Reserve Collection must always have a new
Reserve Request List Form filled out at the beginning of each session.
All library books placed on Reserve must have a call number, author and
title filled out on the Reserve Request List Form. Please include the
edition and number of copies with the call number, and any books that
are currently on order.
ORDERING BOOKS FOR RESERVE
To order a book for the Library, submit a separate order to the Acquisitions
Department via the New Acquisitions Request

in advance of the beginning of term. Indicate "RUSH for Reserve"
and the course number on the order. Note on the Reserve List Request Form
that the book is "on order".
